Mississippians Praying for Church and Nation
The time leading up to our national election this November will offer registered voters the opportunity to consider who to vote for. While it is true that no person is to put allegiance to any political party over God we still ought to prayerfully consider who we are to vote for. But seeking answers to who we ought to vote for must also be accompanied with prayer for personal and national revival.
If Christians of the church do not lead the nation in repentance, then revival is not at all likely to occur. What good does it do to gain the political candidate of your choice and forfeit personal revival which is a sure catalyst for change?
Christ is the only hope for America - not a candidate, not a political party, not government programs and bailouts, but Jesus himself. To this end the Christian Action Commission is calling on the church in Mississippi to join together in prayer for repentance and revival.
The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and North American Mission Board have led a charge for a 40 Day Prayer Vigil for repentance and revival. Visit www.ilivevalues/prayer to learn more about how you can pray, join others in prayer, and encourage others to do the same. At this site you will be able to download a 40 Day Prayer Guide that you can reproduce for fellow Christians in your community to join you in this great ministry so that the church in America might reconcile herself to God.
