People have been drinking fermented beverages since at least the days of Noah. The Bible states that after the flood, Noah planted a vineyard, made wine, and got drunk (Genesis 9:20-21). In New Testament times, Jesus turned water into wine at the marriage feast at Cana (John 2:1-11), and Paul admonished Timothy to “use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses” (1 Timothy 5:23). Obama health-care plan has abortion funding

The Southern Baptist Convention’s public policy entity has expressed disappointment with President Obama’s health-care reform proposal, saying it opposes the plan in its current state.

The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) announced its opposition in a two-page analysis released after the president unveiled his plan prior to a Thursday health-care summit. The White House-hosted meeting will bring together Democratic and Republican leaders and members of Congress with Obama and officials in his administration for six hours of discussion.

MS Personhood Amendment

Personhood Mississippi, a pro-life organization, is seeking to end abortion in Mississippi by amending the Bill of Rights section of the Constitution of the State of Mississippi. 

Their approach is a two-fold initiative consisting of a statewide petition and a statewide vote.

First, Personhood Mississippi is seeking to collect and certify 90,000 signatures from registered voters (equally divided throughout Mississippi).  They will need to gather these signatures by February 13, 2010.  Those that sign the petition agree that unborn human beings ought to have the same legal status and right-to-life as persons who are born.

Illegals and Health Care–Who Should Be Covered?

Several faith groups, insisting that health care is a human right, are saying access to the care is a “moral and spiritual imperative,” particularly for those who are not American citizens.

The debate over who would qualify for any government insurance coverage spiked when S.C. Congressman Joe Wilson voiced his opinion on the matter during the president’s recent address to Congress.

Where Is the President’s Health Care Reform Bill?

In his speech Wednesday night President Obama delivered a broad outline of key components he says are in his health care reform package. The President declared, “The plan I’m announcing tonight would meet three basic goals.” He went on to give some “details that every American needs to know about this plan.” He called it “my plan” and “my health care proposal.” He said “the plan that I’m proposing will cost around $900 billion over ten years.” Evidently, President Obama has a health care reform plan.

Opposition to Government-Run Health Care Increases
