Legislation to extend hate crimes protections to homosexuals and transgendered individuals could severely restrict religious freedom, foes of the proposal said April 28 as they sought to rally opposition.

The decision by U.S. District Court Judge Edward Korman of New York to order the FDA to make Plan B, post-intercourse contraceptives available to 17-year-old girls without a prescription from their doctor is one more example of the government believing it has the right to interpose itself between parents and their children. It is shameful that the Obama administration has decided it will not appeal this terrible federal court decision.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acknowledged at a congressional hearing the Obama administration regards abortion as “reproductive health” care and believes women throughout the world have a right to the procedure.

Clinton also defended her admiration for the late eugenicist Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood.
